Korang pernah dengar tak kumpulan Fresh Friends?? Ala, dah lame dah. Tahun 2002 lagi. Korang time tu darjah brape or tingkatan brape? Aku time tu tingkatan 2. Memang minat lagu dia “Oh! Dunia”. Kalau tak silap ni bukan kumpulan yang popular, diorang just penyanyi yang bergabung untuk lagu ni semata-mata untok kempen kitar semula. Haaaa... Ingat?? Penyanyi tu adalah Ajai / Musa & Arab. Memang selalu la kuar kat tv lagu ni bila iklan kitar semula.

“RECYCLING is good way to save our natural resources and reduce pollution. All levels of society should understand the importance of recycling and help create a cleaner and brighter world. One of the key factors in the success of any recycling campaign is awareness.
The Housing and Local Government Ministry is aware of this need and has launched the Fresh Friends Road Show, targeting children in primary schools at the SK Seri Selangor in Subang Jaya yesterday. The Recycling Campaign for Children hopes to turn recycling into a way of life for the younger generation and four cartoon characters called Fresh Friends are the ideal way to reach out to children.
As the story goes, the Fresh Friends, Ree, Cyke, Curl and Link, are from a planet that was destroyed by a trash meteor and they have come to Earth to help clean it up. In their quest to help the world, they come up against the evil Mr Waste who would like nothing better than to see the whole world turn into a dumpsite.
The Fresh Friends delivered their message with music and one of their songs Oh Dunia has reached the charts on local radio station Era Radio.
The characters presented an interactive sketch that introduced the children to the importance recycling. The children, from Year 4 to 6 were thrilled and paid close attention to what the four characters in bright blue suits had to say.
The children were also quizzed on the various aspects of recycling and given prizes in the form of Fresh Friends cassettes. The children were also invited to take part in recycling activities with the Fresh Friends.
Headmistress Norpipah Mohd Isa said the road show was a good way to complement what the students had already learnt as part of their studies.
She said the school already had an ongoing recycling programme but hoped that this experience would encourage the children to recycle more and maybe even reach out to their parents. “When the children see the characters on stage with bright costumes accompanied by invigorating music, it has a greater impact on the young minds,” she added.
The road show will visit 27 school and end on Aug 21. All the shows will follow a similar theme and the organizers hope that the children will pay a bit more attention to the environment and know about the importance of recycling.”
